Cropped Sweater Walks Into a Beach Resort

My girlfriends and me decided to celebrate Holidays this season in a resort. As long as you’re willing to wander outside the actual resort, it’s a great place to find some emerging country style. You might think are we still in our decent minds? What came to our minds that we have decided to celebrate the coldest season in a place meant to cool down bodies during hot season? Well, it is not actually a beach resort, it is just a nice resort with pools, nice accommodations, nice activities and great atmosphere!

So, next hard part packing stuffs, well I wanted to bring my knit wears since it will be very breezy out there but I do not want to look like I just got out of the bed wearing my lazy knits, nor do I want to feel like I came out from my office work wearing stiff knit wears. Of course I wanted to look like I am still in a resort but with an appropriate clothing, so what to wear, what to wear, hmmm. I am finding inspirations from the internet. What do bloggers , stylists, designers or artists wear during their holiday off because honestly wherever they are, they look super stylish in the photos it is like they are still in the shooting mode! I want to look good in our picture! This will be another one of those “unforgettable nights”.

So I visited my favorite App, Resultly and brought me to a cute fashion fusion. Knit wear + cropped silhouette = cropped sweater! I fell in love with it once I saw it, it is not too old style, not too vulgar, it is stylish, it is new, plus it fits the resort feeling! Peeerfeect!!!! Now I just have to choose the perfect color and cut! I would just pair the cropped sweater with shorts and a sandals and I am off with my outfit!

I also plan to buy this from Abercrombie, this would be a savior when I am feeling chilly plus it suits any of my outfit! Not a cropped sweater, but still really cute:

Next are the essential things, I am known as the girl scout of our circle of friends because I am always prepared! I mean always! Ask me for band aids, alcohols, peroxides, medicines, food. I would always have this checklist for my toiletries (like shampoo, soap and etc), outdoor outfit (like towels, tops and bottoms), sleepwear, underwear, chargers, medicines, first aid kits, money, and flashlight. Of course we will be going in a different place, it is good to be super prepared! We will never know.

Of course last know where you are going, tell someone in your place the where about just in case something unexpected happens. And at last feel the moment and have fun!

Shorts And Black Stockings

Through my twenty some years I’ve come to one important conclusion.  Do not worry about what others think.  As easy as this may sound it is hard to achieve or to try to convince yourself that you are truly not caring about others thoughts. Even if you still have that slight feeling that people are judging your outfit, embrace it! Follow your own style and blend your personality with your style. There will always be people who don’t like the way you dress or style your hair, but if you like it and embrace it that’s all that matters. Although I try to follow my own advice its difficult to be fully confident. I think it is something learned more than anything. An example of such a trend is wearing shorts and stockings or what some may refer to as shorts and tights.

This trend of short and black stocking slowly made its way over from the UK. When I was studying abroad in London my Junior Year of College, ALL the girls were wearing shorts and tights. OK, London is not the emerging world, but bear with me.

Then when I came back to the states it wasn’t something that was widely known. Some girls seemed to slowly pick up on the trend, but it never really picked up quite as much as I would have thought. I for one love the look. Although it may not be the smartest choice in the dead of winter when its under 20 degrees, in other circumstances it works.

The black sheer stockings and long black socks really lengthen the leg. Also, the tights are a great way to slim the leg. I love wearing sheer black tights with dresses or skirts as well in the fall or winter. If you don’t want to full tights you can buy some garter stockings. Sometimes the full on tights are SO uncomfortable. Although, the DKNY tights have a nice band, but don’t get me started on the horribly made tights. They fit fine all the way until you get to your waist where they squeeze you bringing out your fat on both sides of the band. Anyway, enough of my rant. In conclusion, with the garter black stockings you won’t find this problem, and you’ll feel a bit sexier in the process. Here’s a great pair I found!

Another way to mix up those black stockings is to try a new style. I just recently discovered that so many varieties are available. Urban outfitters has some great affordable pairs, but just be warned that some don’t fit very well. One of my other favorite brand are Hue. Here’s some hue stockings I found on Bloomingdales.

These definitely add some extra detail to your everyday sheer tights. This pair of black stockings would go great with a skater skirt or high waisted jean shorts. Here’s another great website to search for some plain black stockings and some stockings that are a little different:

To conclude,  as much as some people despise this look there is no doubt that black stocking will slim out and elongate your legs. They also do provide some shield against the cold…even the sheer stockings.

My Cat Dress and Me

Not long ago I was a seven year old girl picking out her outfit for school picture day. I had wanted to wear a pink dress to feel like a princess, what girl wouldn’t?! Well my mother thought that might not be the best ensemble since it was about 20 degrees outside and snowing. So, instead I wore a Cat Dress with leggings.

I clearly had mad style. I recently stumbled upon this cute little picture of myself and it got me wondering, could I rock this look today and not be judged? I just love taking inspiration from nature. Cats are so cute.

So low and behold, I started searching online for new and improved remakes of my once favorite yet slightly embarrassing outfits. I was looking at all sorts of stores from Ragstock to Forever 21, thinking that weirdos and girls that think they’re fashion forward would want them. I started coming across a hole bunch, from maxi dresses to short spaghetti straps and it was marvelous. Click the link before for all the fun ones I found.

I immediately started looking for some leggings, and thought I should at least try to vamp us this 7 year old look with some edgy chic leggings. So, what did I do? I went for the leather/liquid leggings look. I was watching Keeping up with the Kardashians the other day and saw that Kourtney was rocking a hot pair so I gave it a google. I wasn’t about the have the awkward crotch that comes with cheap-o’s, so here are the J Brand leather leggings I found.

Super cute so far right?

I certainly think so. Next up would be a head accessory. I wasn’t sure i wanted to go full throttle seven year old with the pig tails again, but I thought a super cute head band with my long beach waves would do the trick. I’m also personally a huge Gossip Girl fan, if you haven’t been able to tell by now, so naturally I channeled my inner Blair Waldorf for this one. I thought, “WWBD?”. And then it came to me just like that! I found this super cute chunky, hot pink one that would match my 7 year old picture which I knew my mom would find to me funny as well. I was happening to go to the mall the next day so for that I figured it’d be easiest to just hit up some basic accessory stores and take a peek at what they had. So, For Love here I come.

If you love this one as much as I did be sure to check out their website. I found this one here, but they had a ton more options to choose from as well.

And that my friends, is how I recreated my 7 year old self in a cat dress.

How to Rock a White Jumpsuit

When I was in middle school I remember scavenging through clothes in  my basement for no particular reason. As I was pulling 80’s styled clothes from a large garbage bag, I came across a shoulder padded blazer, large printed pants, and a long-sleeve black jumpsuit. As I was making strange faces pulling out these outdated items I quickly shoved everything back into the bag. I always flashback to this memory when I see old styles come back to today’s fashion trends. A few I could name off the top of my head are overalls, distressed jeans, high-waisted pants and skirts, rompers, and jumpsuits. One of my favorite from that list are the high-waisted pants and jumpsuits. In particular I love white jumpsuits. Ever since I began traveling and visited Brazil, white jumpsuits remind me of a New Year’s party in Rio.

Wearing white is very difficult for me because I’m so quick to get stains. I try so hard, but always end up with a small chocolate streak across a pair of white jeans or white top. For all those who have the same natural unavoidable problem, the white jumpsuit should be your biggest fear. However, don’t fear. I have overcome this inevitable trait of always staining my white clothes. When you have a white top, there’s a point when  you forget that you’re wearing it. This happens very slowly throughout the day. When you first walk out the door your very vigilant and almost paranoid about getting your beautifully white fresh looking top. But, with the white jumpsuit you will not forget. When you’re pants and top are white you will constantly see the white around you ultimately being more paranoid than you’ve every been (wearing white) and will surely not get your brand new white jumpsuit stained.

Ok. Lets get to the next important part of this piece.  How do you rock a white jumpsuit?

#1 You don’t need an overpriced jumpsuit

There are certain pieces of clothing where you will see a different in clothing, and it is worth it to spend some more money on. For example, you generally spend more money on well-made shoes and jeans. With a white jumpsuit you don’t want a cheap fabric but you don’t need the most expensive jumpsuit on the catalog. Take a look at these two white jumpsuits and spot the differences:

From Misguided

From Revolve Clothing

So, lets compare these two white jumpsuits. Besides the obvious long-sleeve vs. short-sleeve and belt vs. no belt, what else really sticks out between the two? The jumpsuit from misguided is more of the traditional jumpsuit you would see in the 80’s and much cheaper than the one from Revolve. This is because the jumpsuit pants are flared and the long-sleeve not too low-cut of a neck-line is typical for the 80’s. Whereas the jumpsuit pants on the bottom are skinny, and the sleeves are completely cutoff. However, when I look at the neck line both jumpsuits are similar. As far as the quality and true difference in how these jumpsuits lay on the model’s there’s not much of a difference. They both look very well made and lay nicely on the body. I actually even like the way that the misguided material doesn’t scrunch up in the torso and the boot-cut bottoms elongate the legs. My point is, you don’t have to spend much money on a jumpsuit to look good. Here’s a list of white jumpsuits I loved:
