         <description><![CDATA[<p>Besides the usual "synergies," (which can really work in VC backed startups) there is another reason for this - CASH. A cash rich startup with a failed (ok, let's not say failed, but not quite yet market ready) business plan in a certain space may merge with a cash strapped startup making progress in the same industry. Or, a cash cow startup that has reached a plateau in revenue growth may merge with a cash-burning startup with growth potential in the same space.</p>]]></description>
